we will all be together,, in the end![]()
I just want all my Protestant brothers and sisters to come home.
we will all be together,, in the end![]()
Let there be peace on earth and let it begin with me. ....................
That could make quite a tongue-twister!
I think to some extent that depends on the attitude with which the denominational difference is viewed. If we worship and pray with those with whom we differ, and work together for God's kingdom, then it is more like diversity. If we bicker and quarrel, and take our eyes off Christ and those he wants us to love, then that is more like disunity.
Tragically, history is full of the latter. And even today those who work for unity will often get an awful lot of slander from fellow Christians. Our churches, which should proclaim Christ's love in word and deed, too often become breeding grounds for prejudice and hatred. It must grieve our Father's heart when his children behave in this way.
To me allot of the problems come in when man takes his ideas and some Biblical half truths and misunderstandings
or misinterpertation of the absolute truth and apply them to what they think and then make doctrines out of it.
As far as historians they take bits and pieces of some of mans findings and fill in the blanks. To me they do not except the Inspiration of the Holy Spirit. One example is that Constatine is credited as turning Rome into being
Christans. Well the truth is he made a law that said all the citizans of Rome where Christians and if they did not except it they where put to death.
I believe man and his pride has done more to destroy things than help. Bottom line to me is until Jesus comes there will never be peace between the different denomanations.
I agree Robert , we are all hoodwinked into thinking the saint cannot learn these absolute truths but we can and we have the teacher living in us who was sent to live in our soulish part in order to teach us of the things of Christ , but today it is more important to follow what the particular belief patterns are than to follow the scriptures .A lot like the church at Corinth though not such wild parties
The road to unity is a long one, with many barriers to overcome. But there are growing signs of Protestants and Catholics working together.
And, as Canny says, one day we will be united before the throne of our Saviour, and there will be no Catholic and Protestant. Then we will all be truly home.
In my experience the attitude of "you in your small corner and I in mine" is causing most of the problems.
People have an opinion or view of other denominations often based on one small difference. They don't talk to other Christians in other denominations and this alows predudice to develop. Where there is communication between deniminations then the differences dissapear into the background and we see the commonality of what we believe.
Sory did not make myself clear here , i support scripture as opposed to denominational teaching , it reads the opposite of what i meant , but hey after all Im welsh
