I just downloaded the file from the link that you put up, onesiphorus; however, going to the home page, and looking at the statement of beliefs, I know that there are things that will be taught which I have believed in the past, but have been led by the Spirit to study intensively, and He has changed the manner in which I understand these things.
To put it briefly, without posting so that controversy and strife will ensue, I believe that God has always saved believers on the basis of His covenant of grace, and that all things are included in that - I believe since the bible says there is no other way to be saved, even the saints saved in the tribulation will be saved by that grace.
There is a lot included in what I said that I am not going to expound upon, even though it wouldn't take that long, because this is a thread you put up, to help us grow in the love, grace and knowledge of our Lord, and I won't be the author of contention in it, as I do not wish to be in anything, except where the pure doctrine of our God is taught according to the doctrines of man - at that point, the grace of God and His Spirit demands, commands, and empowers us to "fight for the faith that was once for all delivered to the saints."
I will listen to the sermon I downloaded, and get back to you on it - I'm sure at some point there will be feedback.
Would you object to another series on the same eight chapters being posted in another thread: namely, the one John Piper did?
I may not agree with the teachings of any one pastor/teacher, but I find a lot which I do agree with among some, and it is good to get a rounded view of these things.
Love you in Christ, bro,

thankyou for your feed back ,i have reread the faith statement and i see nothing that contradicts what you say concerning salvation by grace alone ,running 2 studies on romans side by side ,Im not sure about, however we could follow this one with a study by John Piper .
I like you do not believe in agreeing with a teacher ,because he is a teacher and the whole exercise is in fact governed by the authority of scripture ,but what it does is get saints out of prooftexting and into looking at the bible as a whole with the ot and nt seen as one
Keep this going Onesi, although like others he does flit about a bit quick Its certainly one I would listen too.
Let there be peace on earth and let it begin with me. ....................
OK PART 2 OF THE AUDIO STUDY ON ROMANS
CHAPTER 1:1-13
20090524-SUN-1100-ROMANS_SERIES_CH_1_V_1_TO_13-JOHN_VERSTEGEN.mp3
Listened to the first one, liked what he preached/taught.
He did give a comment that he would be going into areas later that I already know what he will say about, because I looked into them.
To post it in very short form: I believe that God's covenant of grace has always been in effect, and encompasses all the covenants He made with Israel. Grace and truth coming through Jesus Christ doesn't limit that to the New Testament, since Jesus is the infinite God who appeared to Abraham, and Abraham was saved by the imputation of that which he looked forward to, as we are by the same type of faith, but which we can look back to.
God tells us that grace is the only way one is saved, and this permeates His word, so I don't see this as ever being canceled, or changed, since He is unchanging, and His promises are - His gifts and calling - are without repentance - they, of Him, partake of His nature, and are immutable.
This could get into something else entirely: let's not let it.
I just wanted to explain what I believe about God's covenant of grace, in regards to what will later be taught in this study - not that a lot of it will necessarily be wrong, but, like I said, just explaining what I understand through prayerful, Spirit-led study.
Love you in Christ, bro,
Bill

Romans 1:24
Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
Can someone help me understand what is being said here
Romans 1:28
Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
I am not talking about those saved
Are the verses saying that at some point in our disobedience, God walks away? That he leaves us in our sin?
The verse seem to be saying to me, that God walks with the un save protecting them from there own evil desires, maybe with convictions, but based on these two scriptures it would seem to me, that God eventually gives them over to their own evil desires
What does it mean God gave them up to the lusts of their own heart
