The HIstory of the protestant bible ,and how error has been introduced

I intend over the next few weeks to give a true account of the history of the bible in relation to the protestant faith .

I will nail my colours immediately to the mast and say that this thread will be absolutely prejudiced in its approach to the manuscripts and texts leading to the true bible with regard to the bible believing saint

It will often fly in the face of modern , liberal theology and all its heretical theology , and it also denies the claims that the Roman Catholic church in any way are the instigators of the canon as far as true protestants are concerned

It will be a fundamental conservative study which again is not the popular method of teaching today , but I hope it shows that by going step by step along the route which leads to the authorised version of the bible that those concerned with the truth of the scriptures will see how over the space of 2 millenium academics ,gnostics and cheaters and twisters have tried to destroy the word of God ',

I honestly do not know where this thread will go but all I now is I must do it and where I fall I hope you saints will pick me up and I praythat I can complete what I am setting out to do .

I will begin this journey in a couple of days , I am now preparing you all for this thread because I know some will kick against this thread but if you do not agree , you had better come up with strong scriptural proo for your disagreements , because I assure you this subject is so criticaal that if we get it I promise you it will blow your mind , so I will not put up with any personal notions or assumptions , so be warned

When I was first saved the first thing I wanted to after wanting to save my family , my next door neighbour ,the world ,was to get myself a bible ,so of course I asked those respected church leaders and church council members which version I should get , and the main suggestions were

THe NIV (very popular ,if you want to understand what it really says )

the American standard (if you really want to undestand what it says )

The CEV (if you really wanted to get what it says )

The Amplified (if you really want to understand what it says )


Do NOT GET A Authorised King James Version , you will NEVER get what it says

THat is enough on bible versions for the time being , and I will not tell anyone what version to buy , but I hope after this thread I will make clear which versions NOT to get or advise another saint to get


No one ever explained to me how a version of the bible is actually produced ,I just thought that it all came from the same old manuscripts a nd scrolls and each was just an update from a previous one going way way back ......THAT IS A BIG MISTAKE IN ITS SIMPLICITY .....that is most certainly not the case and as we go back and prove that ........in fact since a certain period of history the basis of the version is which one of two texts is it a version of , it may seeem trivial at te moment but I will show you how critical it is that you a christian saved through the blood have a bible from the one texts and NOT from the other .

There will be names of men appearing in this thread such as Bruce Metzger , westcott , hord ,nestle , aland , german higher critics , origen ,plato, philo ,socrateses ,most none of us have heard of yet these names have been the determining factor in what a saint reads and whether what a saint reads is Heretical or not ,.....and as protestants we should be aware of the background to the 2 texts I have mentioned above .

I hope this although sometime technical thread and sometimes dry will not deter you because it really is a matter of LIFE which version you have ...AND IT DOES MATTER ,

I will try to dispell this attitude of today that it doesnt really matter what version you have (That is a lie straight from the mouth of satan )our and our saviors sworn enemy , and when you see how far satan has infiltrated the ranks of the academia who decide on the texts then you will see just how important this actually is

I shall begin this study as It is clear from what is said and believed not only here at Lampstand ,but in all churches and denominations "MODERN TEXTUAL CRITICISM"has permeated the modern versions to such an extent that four things are crystal clear

1......ignores the supernatural character of the bible

2.......ignores satans attack on the bible

3.......ignores GODS promise of preservation

4.......ignores the preeminence of faith


In the late 1800s we have the 2 main architects of 'modern textual criticism 'namely Bishop BRooke Foss Westcott ,an Anglican bishop and professor at Cambridge university and Fenton John Anthony Hort ,also an ordained priest and professor at Cambridge who in 1881 produced a "Greek New Testament "and this "New Testament"was the basis for the English Revised Version of 1881

Westcott and Hort developed a theory called "textual criticism " which has been used in the verions of most of the "modern" bibles saints around the world regard as the preserved word of God ;but I hope I can help to destroy that trust ; in such as the New American Standard Bible and the NIV

These two men have together introduced so much confusion, error, heresy and apostasy by their theories on textual criticism that today saints no longer believe in trusting the Word of God in its purity ,but the deviant teachings of mans wisdom and philosophies .

I will not say any more about these 2 ,but I will show you their own words which will give you some idea of what these mens philosophies were

WEstcott did not believe in the Deity of Christ ,here he tells us that in his book "The Gospel According to Saint John " , that John never speaks of Himself(Jesus)directly as God but the aim of His revelation was to lead men to see God in Him therefore not affirming the identification of the Word with Jesus Christ .


Concerning the scriptures Westcott says

"I reject the infallibility of Holy Scriptures overwhelmingly!!!!

The bible as well as our faith is mere compromise !!!!!

Evangelicals seem to me pervertedThere are I fear stilll more serious differences between us on the subject of authority , especially the authority of The Bible

Concerning Hell ...

Westcott wrote Hell is not the place of punishment of the guilt ,it is the common abode of departed spirits

We have no sure knowledge of future punishment and the word Eternal ha a "far higher meaning "

Creation ...No one now I suppose holds that the first 3 chapters of Genesis for example give a literal history .I could never understand how anyone reading them with open eyes could think they did

But the book which has most engaged me is Darwin ...My feeling is strong that the theory is unanswerable

Concerning ATonement ..I think I mentioned to you Campbells book on Atonement ......but unluckily he knows nothing except Protestant theology

THE POPULAR DOCTRINE OF SUBSTITUTION IS AN IMMORAL AND MATERIAL COUNTERFEIT...NOTHING CAN BE MORE UNSCRIPTURAL THAN THE LIMITING OF CHRISTS BEARING OUR SINS AND SUFFERINGS TO HIS DEATH ,BUT INDEED THAT IS ONLY ONE ASPECT OF AN ALMOST UNIVERSAL HERESY

And finally ....IHAVE NO REPUGNANCE TO THE PRIMITIVE DOCTRINE OF A RANSOM PAID TO SATAN .±I CAN SEE NO OTHER FORM IN WHICH DOCTRINE OF A RANSOM IS AT ALL TENABLE ,ANYTHING IS BETTER THAN A RANSOM TO THE FATHER

WESTCOTT SAID I HAVE BEEN PERSUADED FOR MANY YEARS THAT MARY WORSHIP AND JESUS WORSHIP HAVE VERY MUCH IN COMMON AND THE PURE ROMANISH VIEW SEEMS TO BE NEARER AND MORE LIKELY TO LEAD TO THE TRUTH

CONCLUDING IN THIS STATEMENT CONCERNING THE CUMULATIVE EFFECT OF MULTIPLE CHANGES IN THEIR TEXTS TO THE ORIGINAL MANUSCRIPTS

IT IS QUITE IMPOSSIBLE TO JUDGE THE VALUE OF WHAT APPEAR TO BE "TRIFLING ALTERATIONS " MERELY BY READING THEM ONE AFTER ANOTHER ...TAKEN TOGETHER THEY HAVE OFTEN IMPORTANT BEARINGS WHICH FEW WOLD THINK OF AT FIRST ..........IT IS ONE CAN HARDLE DOUBT, THE BEGINNING OF A NEW PERIOD IN CHURCH HISTORY ..SO FAR THE ANGRY OBJECTORS HAVE REASON FOR THEIR ASTONISHMENT

THAT WAS AND IS SO TRUE


it is clear that Westcot was a Darwinian theologist who rejected the authority of scriptures,Biblical salvation ,the reality of Hell , substitionary atonement , makes Christ a created being to be worshipped with Mary and that the use of trifling alterations with the Old Greek Text will begin a new period in Church History

So to end this post I ask anyone to consider when one picks up a version of the New American or the New international version ,or the New King James can you actually now believe that on the pretence of these versions being "easier " to understand that you can also believe what Westcott wrote that the "trifling alterations" taken in their entirity affects the whole ,as we now delve into the truth of the distortions of scripture through the "modern textual criticism" used today .

there really is so much to say , that I will have to continue this in small sections as I have not really come to begin to explain what this method is ,just some brief points on the architects , but even as I write I can see how errors in todays teachings and preachings are the result of this heretical method of interpretation , but one thing I hope you begin to see ..that the modern versions contain the thoughts and philosophies of man intertwined with scripture ,and it is this which I hope and pray we can unravel as time goes by
